A place I could visit again and again is Italy. I actually get homesick for it sometimes. There's just something about the art, the really good coffee, the laundry drying on clotheslines... I feel close to my Italian roots when I'm there.
My favorite part of any trip is meeting the locals. Some highlights: using my (very elementary) French to chat with a Belgian shopkeeper, drinking corn beer with Peruvian Highlanders in the Sacred Valley, and watching the Maasai tribe dance in Tanzania.
The best meal I’ve had abroad is—surprise, surprise—anything Italian. I still think about the tortellini soup in Bologna and the. best. mushroom risotto in Florence. Also, is it too much to describe the ceviche in Peru as “life changing”?
