No trip to Poland is complete without visiting Warsaw, a city that was nearly destroyed during World War II and rebuilt beginning in 1944.

All of our Poland guided tours will take you through the city, where you can see the Chopin Monument at Lazeinki Park, visit the Jewish Ghetto and Jewish Memorial, and walk through the Warsaw Rising Museum to learn about the Ghetto’s revolt against the Nazis. You can also walk amongst the Old Town’s colorful buildings, which is a truly unforgettable experience.

While most people tend to take trips to Poland in the summer, our favorite time to go is during the off-season. The weather is more moderate, there are fewer crowds, and prices are often more reasonable, too. Poland never gets too hot and can drop to below freezing in the winter, so spring and fall are the perfect times to visit.

Don't skip Warsaw or Kraków. Warsaw is the capital, and the largest city of Poland. Its Old Town is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. Kraków is in southern Poland near the border of the Czech Republic, and it’s known for its well-preserved medieval core and Jewish quarter. • The history. From medieval tribes to religious strife to two world wars, there's no shortage of cultural history to learn while visiting Poland.
• The Masurian Lake District. In Polish and German the name of this UNESCO-recognized biosphere translates into mean “the land of one thousand lakes”, and it’s overflowing with things to see and do.
• Many picturesque landscapes. On any of our Poland trips, you’ll discover that the country is home to breathtaking beaches, lakes, mountains, and forests. There's even a desert, too!
• Milk bars (bar mleczny). No, they’re not bars for milk. These cafeteria-style restaurants offer complete, homemade meals for just a few dollars.
• Delicious beer. Did you know the average Polish citizen drinks between 92 and 99 liters of beer a year? There are definitely some delicious brews to try.

• Check the weather before you pack. It might not be as cold as you think. Winters can dip below freezing, but summers can get really warm, too!
• They don’t use the euro. The national currency in Poland is zioty (pronounced zwoty), and most places will not accept the euro or U.S. dollars.
• Always bring a gift if you’re visiting a local. Whether it’s cake, a bottle of alcohol, or even a few flowers, it’s customary to arrive with a token of thanks. If you’re bringing flowers, though, be sure to make them an odd number! Even numbers are reserved for funerals.
• Take your shoes off if you enter someone’s home—unless they tell you to leave them on, of course!
