Staffer Brittany E. returned from her first-ever trip to Greece absolutely smitten with the island of Corfu because of the ocean views and the quaint old town feel. “To top it all off,” she adds, “The cuisine was Greek with an Italian influence—so it was extra delicious!” Here, she shares five of her favorite photos from her trip.
“This gorgeous view was right outside our hotel room in Corfu! Our hotel was located in the historic district which was set up very similarly to the Gothic Quarter in Barcelona or Florence. The narrow, cobblestone streets were lined with shops and bakeries with friendly shopkeepers.”
“This is the town of Arachova. This quaint, mountainside town was definitely a trip highlight! Here, you can see the amazing views of the olive groves below and snowcapped mountains behind.”
“I found this street alley in stair form in Corfu. I really loved the stone steps and how they work their way through the buildings.”
“This local taverna menu shows off the Greek alphabet.”
“This photo is of the Agios Stefanos Monastery in the Meteora region. It’s absolutely remarkable how these monasteries were built out of the mountainside with such stunning views of the towns below.”
