“This trip was an incredible trek across five countries in Scandinavia. The fjords of Norway were absolutely stunning as we cruised through them for a day. We were surprised at the depth and breadth of the tour. We traveled by plane, train, ship and bus and saw so many interesting places we could have never organized on our own. ...”

“As with our previous Go Ahead tours, our tour directors were EXCELLENT. Our travel was laid out flawlessly and our visit exceeded our expectations! The group was not too large and everyone was prompt during our travels. We had a really great, rewarding visit!”

“Do not overthink it. Go Ahead has already done this for you. The simplicity of experiencing SO MUCH can only be due to Go Ahead’s team of guides, local guides, former clients and good old tried and true EXPERIENCE. Scandinavia was folded open for me on a platter, and I enjoyed every moment of it. ...”

“Thomas was a fantastic tour guide! Very thoughtful, friendly, helpful and organized. ... Norway was my personal favorite followed by Denmark. The flower auction was exceptional! Loved it! The dinner on the boat canal trip was also very very enjoyable. Beautiful countryside along the way. I do recommend this trip and hope they all have Thomas as their guide. :)”

“... The extra hours of daylight in June let us comfortably explore and discover local hangouts! We played boule in Stockholm and attended a Midsummer Eve bonfire in Helsinki with the locals. Go Ahead provided plenty of guided touring and also time to explore on our own. Great trip. Great company! Headed to Italy next!”
Photo and review by 2-time traveler Carole K. on Scandinavia: The Capitals to the Fjords
“Scandinavia is a very different experience from other countries in Europe, Britain or Latin America. It has great architecture, an amazing mixture of the Middle Ages and Ultra Modern. People are friendly and most speak English. You feel safe day or night. You get plenty of exercise because it is easy to explore by walking, whereas locals are on bikes everywhere. Our tour director Atto was experienced, knowledgeable, cheerful and patient. All the step on bus guides were knowledgeable and interesting. Scandinavian hotels were luxurious. Food was always good.”

“... Looking from the outside, a tour that includes 2 internal flights with a group cannot possibly be simple, yet it was MORE than easy. Instantly your group becomes your friends and your tour director becomes your fearless leader. Sweden and its interesting mass transit, sustainability mixed with traditional values was so interesting! Norway with its majestic beauty mixed with real day-to-day life was beautiful! And Denmark, a tiny country with huge charm. ...”

“... Palaces, viking ships, historical monuments, works of art, scientific marvels. This trip is not for the traveler who wants to nap by a pool for a week! Although we did try the cool pools and hot saunas in Finland! ...”

“... I was not harried or hustled on this trip. We had time to do everything and I didn’t feel as if I missed out on anything. And when free time came along, it came just in time! Once I returned home, within 48 hrs I had booked my next trip!”

"... Our guide was flexible and accommodating. We did so much, our tour could even be designed as 2 separate 9-day tours—one focusing on just Norway, Sweden, and Denmark, and another for the Netherlands and Germany. We are glad we were able to participate in this Northern European tour.”

It was Jamie’s homestay in Germany that made her fall in love with travel (and her studies in Florence that really sealed the deal). When she’s not writing and sharing the magic of seeing the world with others, she’s usually on the lookout for her new favorite memoir, testing out recipes at home, or visiting her family on Cape Cod.
