The Eiffel Tower in Paris, France at night
“Paris by Night was by far my favorite optional excursion of the tour. We took a brand new ship (complete with an open rooftop deck) up and down the river. We saw breathtaking views of the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame and so many other landmarks, all lit up at night. It was a beautiful evening that was preceded by a delicious dinner of duck confit. After the cruise, we took a bus tour of the city to get a different view. It was a late night out, but well worth it!”
View of Florence, Italy from the Duomo
“After our guided sightseeing tour of Florence, a few brave group members and I decided to trek up the stairs to the top of the Duomo. The views were incredible. Rooftop after rooftop and the castles and hills in the distance were visible for miles. (If you are afraid of heights, however, this might not be for you! )”
The Tuscan landscape from San Gimignano, Italy
“As we were on our way to San Gimignano, our Tour Director Ronan decided he would stop along the highway so that we could take photos of the gorgeous Tuscan countryside. Everyone jumped off the bus and couldn’t stop snapping photos. Everywhere you turned there was a fantastic sight to be captured. This was a quick little addition to the tour, but everyone appreciated the opportunity to get off the bus and get a clear photo of the remarkable countryside.”
Dinner in Provence, France
“This photo is from a Provençal dinner at an excellent family-run restaurant called Le Mas Des Vignes. The salad was warmed goat cheese on toasted French bread served over mixed greens. This was my favorite dish of the entire tour. The wine served was fresh from the barrel of a local winery. Everyone had a fantastic time here and talked about the experience for days after. We left laughing, and very full!”
Admiring the town of Arles, France
“During our guided sightseeing tour of Arles, we walked all around the town and saw many historical sites, including the hospital where Van Gogh stayed. Standing in front of the Roman Arena, we were all in awe of the quaint beauty of this small city.”
