1

Stroll through the Alfama neighborhood

The Alfama is the oldest neighborhood in Lisbon and was the city center back when the Moors controlled the land, giving it a look and feel all its own. Spend some time walking around the maze of narrow side streets and make your way to Miradouro De Santa Luzia, which is a beautiful lookout spot with views of the river and the red roofs of town.

2

Try Pastel de nata from Pasteis de Belem

You’ve probably heard of the famous Portuguese pastel de nata pastries. You can find them everywhere in Lisbon, but this historic bakery really does have the best! I tried two or three different places during my free time, but our Tour Director bought these for us during our guided sightseeing tour and they are hands-down the tastiest. I loved it with cinnamon sprinkled on top.

3

Get lunch from Time Out Market

During our guided sightseeing tour, our local guide pointed out this place when we passed by. I went back during free time and really loved it. It’s basically a food court filled with high-end restaurants, so you get excellent quality food at a reasonable price.

4

Grab a bite at Casa do Alentejo

I was attracted to its Moorish-influenced courtyard, and the restaurant was just so beautiful too! I really loved the traditional meal options here. The space sometimes has live musicians and other events as well.

5

**Relax in Gulbenkian Park **This park was near our hotel, and our Tour Director recommended a visit here to relax and unwind. A handful of travelers visited it during free time and loved its nice, quiet setting.
